When a designer and musician get married, you can expect a original and festival like wedding – exactly that was Linda & Marcell’s Prague rooftop wedding celebration. Having shared their wedding vows intimately in Scotland couple weeks before, the official ceremony and party with their nearest and dearest took place in Prague. Their venue – the rooftop of famous Lucerna Palace was a perfect space with an urban feel, open to creative ideas. It also bears a close resemblance to their beloved Shoreditch, London, where the couple currently lives. Prague Wedding Photographer Czechia.

Until the last star falls…
The sentence which was present in many details of the wedding. From the invites, to the dress Linda wore, on a paper tape which was a wedding favour for the guests and in a song Marcell composed for Linda as his wedding vow. Listen to it here! Among some other original details a colourful tape was used for traditional corsages for all the guests. Traditionally these are fabric of branches of a myrtle attached with a pin… But this wedding was anything but traditional, so these were colourful buds of carnation flowers attached with purple tape. Carnation flowers were also used instead of confetti and hung to decorate the ceiling of their urban venue.
Neon Ombre Bridal Dress
Linda’s two part wedding dress was designed by her friends from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague Filip Hieke & Tereza Ledvinová. It was not your usual white wedding dress… It was full of original features – as you could expect from fashion designers fresh out of university. With iridescent fabric to begin with, to sewn in quote in neon threads and neon green ombre rim… Little pockets for neon lights to be lit after the sunset and mermaid-like sleeve. Linda’s wet hair look was inspired by the way her and Marcel first met… When they just began dating years ago Linda was representing Czech Republic in canoeing. Hence why she always arrived to their dates with wet hair after the training. Another hint of canoeing was hidden in their black carbon wedding rings. These are made from the material used to build boats and paddles.
The overall design of the space was all created by the bride herself and her family and friends. And it included fun large paper mash decorations. The floral decor throughout was either DIYed or by talented Brno florist TAMASVIGH who created Linda’s tropical wedding bouquet with orchids and exotic flowers as well as Marcell’s creative corsage.
Creative rooftop wedding ceremony with Scottish Hand Fasting
Their rooftop ceremony was accompanied by the piano and violoncello music by their musician friends Lenny and Terezie Kovalová. The aisle was lined with white carped with neon ombre. The ceremony included traditional Scottish hand fasting to represent Britain, where the couple works and lives and specifically Scotland – which they fell in love with.
After the ceremony it was the time to chill, enjoy the sunshine, and hang out with friends and family. The afternoon included music programme with contributions from Marcell’s musician friends such as Thom Artway, Mirai, Albert Černý, Paulie Garand and Zea. The highlight of the evening was definitely a gig by Marcell‘s indie band No Distance Paradise on the backdrop of the sun setting behind the Prague Castle. After the sunset Linda’s dress came into life with tiny neon lights which were sewn in into the dress. We danced the night away into the great tunes played by Dušan Neuwerth and DJ Mardoša. The whole time catered for by the amazing Café Neustadt and powered by traditional Czech – or rather Moravian spirit: slivovice.
