Today I am sharing an exceptionally sunny summer day spent in the charming coastal village Elie in Fife, Scotland and at gorgeously decorated Cow Shed Crail wedding. Martyn & Patrick truly couldn’t have chosen a better weather for their wedding day! I’ve asked them couple questions about their planning process and especially… What’s the secret to organising one of the most relaxed wedding celebrations of 2018?  

Does the location of Cow Shed Crail and Elie village in Fife have any special significance for you?

“Growing up Paddy spent his summers in Elie with family, as did his mother when she was younger, and we’ve now started to continue that tradition. It was the obvious choice for the wedding ceremony and a special place we loved introducing family and friends to. It’s also a very relaxing place – which helps on a wedding day! Having the Cow Shed just nearby in Crail was also perfect to take the party to after the formalities.”

What was the most important for you when planning your wedding?

“For us, friends and family were the most important part of wedding planning. We were hugely excited about preparing for the one day where we could bring together our close family and friends – who probably won’t be in the same place at the same time again – for a great time. This very much influenced where we set the wedding, who we worked with, and what happened on the day.”

What advice would you give to couples planning a wedding?

“Think about your guest’s experience through your planning, and across all moments of the day. We often stopped to think when making a decision ‘how will this person feel at this point in the day, moving from here to there, eating that, listening to that’. ‘Guest experience’ was very important to us and very much made for a relaxed and enjoyable day on our part. Knowing that we’d planned with their enjoyment in mind, as much as (if not more so) than ours!”
