Today I have the pleasure to share Jess & Finlay’s wedding day at the Barn at Barra Castle. Located close to Oldmeldrum in Aberdeenshire countryside it was the perfect blank canvas wedding venue for these two. With elegant and modern interior this Scottish barn venue is just perfect to add little personal touches. There’s been lot of love put into the decorations. With amazing stationery by Paper and Petals. The Gin themed wedding table setting. Please note the table names – they were the ultimate lol. A lot of decor was sourced from charity shops – including the all the vases, chalkboard, ladder of photos and other decorative bits and bobs, mostly with the help of the Mother of the Bride Yvonne.

Wedding day at the Barn at Barra Castle

The story of the day starts with Jess getting ready at the Barra Castle Lodges with her bridesmaids by her side. Champagne in hand and in care of wonderful Paula Beatie Make Up Artist. While Finlay and his groomsmen are checking all is ready at the Barn for the ceremony. As you do at Scottish weddings the sound of bagpipes filled the air. This time played by the amazing 12 year old bagpiper! And suddenly the time is here and bridesmaids in their emerald green dresses are walking down the isle followed by Jess walked down the isle by her father. The humanist ceremony was beautiful and emotional with some wonderful readings and even sun peaked through the clouds for our newly wed photoshoot.
