You might see some familiar faces in this story, as Ellen was one of the bridesmaids at Jess & Finlay’s wedding at The Barn at Barra Castle in Aberdeenshire and it was such a joy to meet the whole gang again and finally celebrate Ellen & David’s wedding which was initially due to take place in spring 2020.
Ellen and David are absolute sweethearts. My first memory with them is when I entered one of the Edinburgh’s cafés for our first meeting and saw a lovely couple in the corner of the room with the most deliciously looking half-eaten piece of cake in front of them and as we greeted each other and I sat down, the first thing they said was “We saved some cake for you!” <3 <3 <3 So we shared a cake and I was officially in love with them.
Summer 2021, the day as gray and rainy as you can expect Edinburgh to ever be, but honestly I didn’t even notice, as the whole day was full of sunshine and joy Ellen & David radiate. With their big smiles and the most genuine love for their family and friends, they were finally able to do this after an extra year of waiting!
They’ve chosen Glencorse House as their venue, beautiful house south of Edinburgh, where you can gett married in the old Kirk on the grounds. The team of Glencorse House were all amazing & the Manager Sarah took amazing care of us for the whole day.
The most vibrant and colourful blooms were from the Pollination Flowers, who never ceases to amaze me with their unique feeling for a pop of colour and the bouquets went with Ellen’s cheerful personality beautifully.
This bunch knows how to ceilidh and even if there is no dancing allowed indoors, they invite the band anyway and as everybody had to be sat at their tables, the ground was shaking from stomping. Fortunately, the rain stopped for a couple of songs so everybody ran outside for a little impromptu ceilidh as you were allowed to dance outdoors.
