Getting contacted by the Scottish – French wedding planner Gabbi is always a happy occasion, it was even happier this time as we got to celebrate Mary & Jacques 50th wedding anniversary! (Actually it ended up being 52nd, because of the Covid postponements!)

Initially the plan for Mary & Jacques was to renew their wedding vows in Glencoe in 2020, just the two of them. Extra two years passed and the plans changed a bit and they decided to make a trip up to Scotland form Belgium with their motorbike friends. Some of them rode and the daughter of the couple accompanied them with a car full of their kilts to which they changed in the car park.

After meeting up this fun bunch in the car park in Glencoe, praying every possible corner of uncovered skin with the anti-midge spray (the bugs in summer are crazy here!), we started to hike up to the viewpoint, welcomed by the sound of bagpipes by the one and only Munro Bagpiper.

        Wedding Vow Renewal in Scotland

The vow renewal ceremony followed, written by Gabbi herself, it was really sweet, but all in french. The ceremony included Scottish traditions – toast of whisky from quaich, hand-fasting and some not so Scottish wedding traditions: confetti in a form of Belgian chocolate bonbons.

Mary & Jacques are keen rock’n’roll dancers so they danced away into a celebration with their friends.

Thank you so much for having me!
