Etive Mor Waterfall Elopement

This really was the sweetest elopement of 2020. Jess & Pat & their five year old son Finley are keen hikers and have been exploring their local area even more during Lockdown and once that was over they were so ready for a trip to their beloved Scotland. And why not to elope while over there as well?! We just met up over phone couple times and planned the whole elopement in 8 weeks, I scouted a wonderful location right next to the Etive Mor Waterfall and Jess managed the rest – from beautiful sustainably sourced flowers to incredibly funny Humanist Celebrant Gary. Their elopement day was super rainy and windy but with a lot of rainbows and it made the most perfect Scottish elopement! Jess on planning their Buchaille Etive Mor Waterfall Elopement:

“Our landscape played a huge part in inspiring our wedding. I love autumnal colors and I knew that our backdrop would give that lovely rustic, bohemian feel. We wanted something very natural and simple and have the views as the main focal point so that played a huge part in the decisions that we made.”

        Intimate Wedding for Two

We all met up at the road down Glen Etive and made our way through boggy terrain to the gorgeous spot with the view of majestic Buchaille Etive Mor as a backdrop. Finley was included in the socially distanced Humanist Ceremony – handing the rings and tying the knot in a traditional Scottish handfasting. Jess looked absolutely fabulous in her Maggie Sottero wedding gown and hiking boots.

        Elopement hike in Glencoe

Afterwards we explored the road down Glen Etive (the famous Skyfall scene was filmed here) and then headed for a mini hike in Glencoe. We managed to avoid all the rain and got some amazing autumnal golden sunshine while Finley was running around all the time and jumping across (and through) the puddles.

“The most important thing is celebrating the love between the two of us.”

When the coronavirus pandemic affected weddings, it actually gave us that push to get married sooner, and made us realize that the most important thing is celebrating the love between the two of us, and how amazing it would be to have an intimate ceremony just us and our son. Neither of us regret this decision, we had the most amazing day and would do it all over again.”

“Anna was amazing, when we were searching for photographer her work really stood out to me, I love how she captured the beauty of the landscapes and her photos were really natural which is exactly what we wanted. She was so easy to talk to it felt like we had known her for years. We could not have been happier about our photographs, they are all so beautiful, we are struggling to pick which ones to frame.”
