Today, I am sharing this elegant international Scottish Barn Wedding Photography at the rustic venue The Barn at Barra Castle in Aberdeenshire.

Engagement Photoshoot in Edinburgh

I got to meet Tim & Pri for a pre-wedding photoshoot in Edinburgh. We explored city streets and even climbed hills in Holyrood Park! I was a perfect opportunity to chat and get to know them better. So they will be relaxed on the wedding day and confident about what they can expect from the photographs. They made a little guest book with the engagement photos for the guests to sign and it was so great to see the photographs in print!

Scottish & Brazilian Wedding Traditions

With the guests arriving from all over the world, this Brazilian/Scottish wedding was an eclectic mix of traditions. A personal and emotional humanist ceremony included ring warming. The guests passed the rings from one to another as a symbol of wishing the couple the best. Traditional hand fasting followed. In the end there was a little twist for a traditional toast from Quaich – instead of whisky, sake was used to honour bride’s Japanese heritage.

As for Brazilian wedding traditions these included generous hand made sweet bar. Having the names of not-yet-married friends written on the hem of the wedding dress – somehow my name happened to be squeezed among them, haha!

The ceremony was followed by drinks reception and an elegant wedding breakfast with multilingual speeches in Portuguese and English, after which we popped out for couple photoshoot – cut short by rain. It wouldn’t be Scotland if it didn’t rain at least once a day. 🙂 Evening reception and party followed and I have to say, Brazilians know how to party!
