Wedding in Glass Roof Church – Neratov | Czech Wedding Photographer
This wedding is one of my longest bookings. The Bride, Iva used to laughingly book me for her future wedding when we were teens attending high school together. And sure enough, here we are 11 years later as Iva is getting ready to walk down the aisle at the Neratov Church. This place holds a special significance to the couple, who are both from the Eagle Mountains area and has a captivating history.
The Glass Roof Church in Neratov, Czechia
The Neratov Church, located in the borderland area of the Czech Republic and Poland has been bombed and lost a significant part of the roof during the second world war. It was in a derelict state for a long time, after the local priest put together an effort to restore the church installing a wooden construction roof with glass in the shape of cross. It brought back life to the whole village, which used to be an important religious place for the locals in the past.
Forest Inspired Wedding
The whole wedding was inspired by the couple’s love for outdoors and forests, as they’re both Scouts. The decor was eco friendly with ferns and rustic details. The Groom, Filip, as a skillful blacksmith contributed with his skills as well, creating his steel bowtie and wooden tray for their rings. The rings themselves were made using the technique mokume gane – layering of metal to create wooden bark pattern.
