Scottish Fine Art and Destination Wedding Photographer
My Approach & Style
Love natural light, am constantly inspired by nature and have an adventurous spirit. I love all things creative and non-traditional. I prefer natural and relaxed shots over the formal ones. Honesty and sincerity are the traits I value the most in people. In my work I combine unobtrusive candid documentary approach with fine art, focusing on details as well as capturing fun, atmosphere and emotion.
My pictures can be described as dream-like, soft & natural and I don’t consider light flares a mistake while maintaining a high standard of professional quality. My aesthetics are shaped by the background in fashion photography and graphic design so simplicity and timeless elegance with modern and fresh feel are something I strive for.
I believe that through some photographs you can not only see but feel.
I believe in a connection between people. Therefore understanding each couple – and understanding your photographer is essential to establishing that level of mutual trust which helps to make photography so natural and spontaneous. It’s important for me to get to know the couples I work with as I’d like to be more of a new friend than hired vendor. My photos are personal and always slightly different – depending on your style.
The Day & Couple Photoshoot
Everything should flow, so during the day, I try my best to be as unobtrusive as possible and let all the photographs happen naturally. I mostly work with natural light and give a bit of direction when needed – usually during portrait photoshoot, which is my favourite part of the day – I really love to capture the intimate moments of the time away from the whirlwind of the wedding party.
I feel very honoured to have the trust of the couples to capture their day. Usually, I deliver first best of images on the day after the wedding with final selection following within 30 days on a gift wrapped USB and in an online gallery. I believe that photos look their best when you can actually touch them – so fine art prints and handmade albums are available.
I’m always happy to grab a cup of coffee (in Edinburgh or Glasgow).
