Loch Lomond Engagement
Oh how I miss shooting! It’s been 5 weeks of lockdown and counting. So today I spent revisiting old shoots and playing around in Photoshop, trying different editing. I stumbled upon Mellisa & Grant’s Loch Lomond engagement shoot and added a lot of black and white edits. I don’t really do B&W very much, but somehow think this just worked! What do you think?
It was a typical moody October day at the head of Loch Lomond with slight overcast and signs of rain to come. We met at the village of Balmaha and ventured into the forest and up a small hill overlooking the lake. Finally we found a little pier at the lake which proved to be the best spot. Offering a view of the mountains as well as a clean and minimal setting. Sometimes unexpected things like that really make the photoshoot. We had fun trying various poses and getting used to the camera. These two were such sweethearts together, I can’t wait to shoot their wedding!
Where to take engagement photos in Loch Lomond?
- Balmaha – you can either explore the shore or go up the Conic Hill for the most amazing views
- Firkin Point – wonderful views of the Loch
- Rowardennan – there is so much to explore here – the most amazing woodlands and if you’re adventurous enough you can head for a hike up Ben Lomond (the views are magnificent but make sure you’ve got all the needed gear, food & drink and navigation skills before you head into hills)
